With over twenty years of experience in healthcare, nursing leadership, and management in Saudi Arabia, Professor Ahmad has established a notable career in the field. He was the first professor of nursing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the first Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) in the region.

Currently, Professor Ahmad serves as a consultant and full professor in the College of Nursing at King Saud University. He is also a co-founder of the Saudi Nurses Association and has previously held the position of dean at the College of Nursing at King Saud University. Recognized for his contributions to nursing and healthcare education, he has been placed among the top 2% of most influential scholars at Stanford University.
