Robots and AI in homes for the elderly could ease social care crisis, says health secretary

At Greybeard, we are keeping ourselves up to date on how AI is gradually affecting the delivery of healthcare services (see our other article here), and a report by the Daily Telegraph caught our eye. 

In Japan, a country with the world’s oldest population, AI and robots are being used in care homes to both entertain and monitor the well-being of care home residents.

The aim is to reduce the demand for health and social care staff. 

This area has significant potential for development in numerous countries across the world. As AI becomes more reliable and expected, it will start to influence how healthcare services are delivered, which can positively impact the well-being of patients and ultimately generate financial benefits for healthcare providers.
